This is about adolescence, race, class, gender and sexual orientation. Marieme, a black teenager, lives in the banlieue on outskirts of Paris. She is seeking to find herself. School offers no outlet for her energies and she drops out. Cleaning is the only job on offer. She turns to petty crime and finds strength in the company of the other members of a girl-gang she is drawn into.
