Two outsiders become unlikely friends in this drama set in Italy. Shun Li is a single mother from China who has come to Europe in the hope of a better life. She meets Bepi, an exile from Eastern Europe with a fondness for poetry. The two strike up a friendship that has the potential to become something more. However, the locals make it clear that they don't approve of the budding relationship, especially given their suspicions about her Chinese heritage. A truly poignant and poetic account of prejudice and friendship in a foreign territory.
